John Ashley, an elderly man, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault, was sentenced to imprisonment for two years, with hard labor.

John Ashley, an elderly man, who pleaded not guilty to assaulting a girl, aged 11 years and 10 months, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in Bathurst gaol.
His Honor said children going through the public parks must be protected.
