Mr Herbert Harris, Crown Prosecutor.
SENTENCED FOR STEALING.
Harry Walsh, a young man, who had pleaded guilty to stealing from the dwelling of Frederick James Barnett Clarke, at Petersham, a quantity of goods on January 7, was brought up for
SENTENCE.
Mr Cromwell, who appeared for the accused, asked for a mitigation of the sentence. Evidence was given that Walsh had suffered from epilepsy, which combined with drink had on one occasion caused his detention in the reception-house for the insane.
His Honor warned Walsh of the danger of drink, having regard to his epilepsy. His Honor would, however, take the circumstances into consideration in passing sentence.
Walsh was sentenced to six months’ hard labour in Goulburn Gaol.
