(Before his Honor Judge Rogers.)
Mr H Harris prosecuted for the Crown.

Friday, January 21.

A SERIOUS CHARGE.
Robert Graham, or Crane, was indicted for attempting to commit a serious offence at Narandera, [sic] on November 4th.
Mr Milner Stephen, instructed by Mr Coleman, appeared for the prisoner, who pleaded not guilty.
The Crown Prosecutor called Constable Pye and a boy, [George Norman Curtin], 9 years of age, to support the case for the prosecution.
The jury found the prisoner not guilty.
In discharging the prisoner, his Honor said he supposed the jury had found the accused not guilty because the boy could not on account of his youth be sworn, and not because there were no suspicions of the prisoner’s guilt if he were the prisoner, he would take care what he did in future.

ALLEGED INDECENCY.
Robert Crane [aka Robert Graham] was charged with having attempted to commit an unnatural offence at Narandera [sic] on 4th November last, and also with indecent assault.
Mr Milner Stephen (instructed by Mr Coleman) appeared for the accused.
The jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged, His Honor warning him to be very careful in the future. It was evident, he added, that the jury had only acquitted him because of the lack of corroborative evidence.
