Before Judge Scholes at the Sydney Quarter Sessions
…
Charles William Kerr, a man of middle age, pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct. Mr Maddocks Cohen, who represented the accused, made a strong appeal for leniency on account of accused’s previous good character. He also pointed out that Kerr had been suffering for some months prior to the offence from insomnia, and had been great troubled over the death of his wife and child. His Honor said he thought that accused had probably been punished sufficiently since his arrest, and ordered him to be bound over in his own recognisance of £50 to come up for sentence at any time within the next 12 months.
