The Dubbo Quarter Sessions opened today. Mr WT Lewis, who was appointed Acting Deputy Sheriff, during the absence of Mr GH Taylor, JP, occupied a seat on the Bench, as did also Mr WF Robertson, PM.

Mr WF O’Reilly, Crown Prosecutor, on behalf of the Legal Profession, congratulated Judge White upon his appointment.

His Honor thanked Mr O’Reilly. He said his was only a temporary appointment, and he regretted that his presence on the Bench was due to the indisposition of Judge Scholes. He would much rather have been presented with a pair of white gloves on this his initial appearance as a Judge than to have to face such a heavy calendar as the one presented at this court.
