THE [COONABARABRAN] QUARTER SESSIONS.
———◦———

His Honor Judge Docker presided at the Sessions on Wednesday. Mr Murray prosecuting for the Crown. The bar was further represented by Mr Mason, and the local solicitors, Messrs Martin and Commins, were engaged.

There was only one case for trial, that of Arcom Singh an Indian hawker charged with committing an unnatural crime on a boy, Andrew McDonald. Mr Mason instructed by Mr Commins, appeared for the defence, and there were a large number of accused’s countrymen present, some from Sydney. Na Thoo, Sydney resident, was sworn as interpreter on account of accused, His Honor declining to employ one on behalf of the crown, as it was said that accused could speak English very well. The evidence was altogether unprintable, and the jury returned a verdict of guilty of the second charge indecent assault. Accused was sentenced to 2 years hard labor in Maitland gaol.
